Magnificent and impressive lava cameo carved to depict the goddess Diana.
Her attributes are the bow and arrows, and the crescent on her head.
The quiver has a very unusual shape of mask, and the moon is as well unusual because personified (as you can see it has eyes, nose and mouth).
The cameo is in very high reliev (ca 1/2 inch from the background) and very crisply carved.
The restoration is faintly discernible. To be sincere, looking the cameo in person, is almost difficult to notice it, if we don't know where is.
Otherwhise the cameo is in mint condition, without wears on the carving. I'm unable to find other defects than the tiny chip on the hear.
The restoration was professionally done and there are not solidy problems. Please check the two last pictures: as you see the restoration is well visible on the back side, but faintly discernible on the front.
Excellent piece, a very rare and desirable cameo of Museum Quality.
