Though ivory was always a very appreciated material, and we can find many precious works of art carved from this exotic material, ivory cameos are probably the most rare. Most of the ivory cameos we can find are from the end of the 19th Century up to the early 20th Century. Antique ivory cameos, of museum quality, like the above Bacchante are extremely rare.
