Condition: flawless.
Impressive Gorgon Medusa.
The panel was part of a bracelet, and is being adapted as brooch, adding a gold pin ot the back side.
All the details are crisp and masterly rendered.
I'm unable to understand wich kind of stone it is.
The actual color is more green than in the pictures. I would say its color and patina reminds the bronze of ancient statues.
The writing says POM - PEI. So I believe the Medusa is from an ancient sculpture, maybe found in Poompei.
