Cameos as ornament.     Since cameos were always collected and considered an important art, they were not only used in jewelry, but also in architecture, sculpture, furniture and picture. So, we can detect medallions on antique buildings, in high-reliefs, as decoration of antique cabinets and on many items like pill boxes, plates, cups or whatever. Miniatures were painted simulating cameos. I'm doing researches and I'll add several pictures in this page.
