CAMEO INSPIRED TO CANOVA This rare erotic cameo depicts a satyr in dalliance with two nymphs and is probably inspired by a work by the sculptor Canova. It is a pendant and might have been used as a decorative charm on a man's watch chain or might have adorned a courtesan's neck. It has been executed by a master hand; the carving is delicate and the figures are graceful and well-proportioned. The frame is in silver. The cameo has a unnoticeable old restoration.
