This cameo was mounted on a wood box. So, at the moment the bezel is not a brooch. But is very easy to add a pin and a clasp for free.

This huge cameo depicts Napoleon or a Napoleonic soldier with his bride. Cameos depicting the allegory of "Soldier and his Bride" were almost usual love-token, given by soldiers to theyr wifes or sweethearts before to leave to fight in battle.
This piece is really unusual because the subject it is not in Neoclassical style.
Masterly carved, is one of the most detailled cameos I have. Really desirable piece.
