This fabulous shell cameo depicts the allegory of the day and the night. This is one of the 4-5 most beautiful cameos I have traded, very detailled and in perfect condition (except two very tiny fragments of the fillgree missing on the bezel, please check at 12:00 hours). All symbols are shown: the putto with the torch (symbol of the light) and the owl with the opium it its paws. The opium is also on the night's hayr.
